Indications for Use
Two of the most widespread issues affecting ESRD patients are protein-calorie malnutrition and vitamin absorption. Pro-Stat® RC is the first liquid protein supplement to provide 15 gm of hydrolyzed complete protein with NKF KDOQITM guideline vitamins and minerals necessary for the dialysis patient, and FOS for pre-biotic intestinal health in a concentrated formula of one fluid ounce
(30 mL) without the added fluid intake of powder protein supplements.
Concentrated – Pro-Stat RC ready-to-use liquid provides as much protein in one ounce as most powder proteins do in 24 oz. (when prepared as directed). Pro-Stat RC is easy to use, easy to give, easy to monitor compliance.
Hydrolyzed – Unlike powdered proteins, the proprietary hydrolyzation process of Pro-Stat® RC breaks down the large protein molecule into free amino acids-peptides – the only elemental, absorbable form in which protein can be used by the body. As a result, onset of action is very rapid and even those with compromised metabolism can digest Pro-Stat easily.
Helps Improve albumin levels – Pro-Stat is unusually rich in the high nitrogen donor amino acids – arginine, glutamine, glycine, proline – on which the body relies for tissue regeneration and repair. These conditionally indispensable AA’s become indispensable in the presence of trauma, wounds and other physiological stress resulting in catabolism and protein energy malnutrition. As a result, Pro-Stat is especially effective when used as nutritional support for low albumin levels.
